Product description
Contact us for an accurate quote: we can design the system for various municipalities, guesthouses, industry, and family houses.
From 1 - 2,500 inhabitants.
The natural and compact wastewater treatment system ECOKOCKA brings the benefits of the latest innovations in constructed wetlands for use in low-flow systems, such as family houses or small businesses.
Constructed wetlands are known as reliable and sustainable wastewater treatment systems and have been successfully used on the market to treat municipal and industrial wastewater as well as agricultural runoff. By applying one of the latest innovations – the aerated root zone – the issue of large footprint requirements has been largely resolved. Additional oxygen introduced into the system can increase treatment efficiency up to tenfold and reduce the required area up to sixfold.
Aeration of the root bed ensures high capacity and smooth operation of water purification, providing greater treatment flexibility under irregular loads. ECOkocka makes this breakthrough technology accessible for family houses and other properties with low wastewater flows, while preserving the benefits of constructed wetlands such as low energy requirements, robustness, and simple maintenance. ECOkocka blends naturally into its surroundings and has a minimal ecological footprint. Its modular structure allows for direct and easy adaptation to treatment demands as well as potential future expansion.
Do you need to solve wastewater treatment for your home or guesthouse? Order a complete turnkey ECOkocka set and leave all the worries to us.
How does ECOkocka work? Wastewater flows into a septic tank where solids settle and separate from floating scum layers. From the septic tank, water is directed into the ECOkocka system. The ECOkocka tank is filled with a filter medium in which plants take root. Bacteria multiply and grow on the surface of the porous material and plant roots as a biofilm. They feed on pollutants from the wastewater flowing through the root bed. Plants create a natural environment for bacteria, allowing them to thrive without the need for artificial replenishment. The water purification process is accelerated and made more efficient by introducing oxygen through distribution piping located at the bottom of the tank. The relatively long retention time of wastewater in the tank prevents sludge accumulation, as excess sludge is digested by bacteria. The natural environment around plant roots and the combination of aerobic and anaerobic processes create high bacterial diversity in the root bed. These can even break down persistent substances such as pharmaceuticals or hormonal contraception.
Compared to conventional small activated sludge treatment plants, the energy consumption of the ECOkocka system is substantially lower because it requires less aeration. The system requires only one inspection visit per year. Since no excess sludge is produced, only the settled sludge in the primary settlement tank needs periodic removal. This means operating costs and total life-cycle costs are very low.
A standard size ECOkocka system serves five to six people. The system is modular, and multiple tanks can be connected in various configurations to achieve the right treatment capacity for your needs, from 1 to 2,500 inhabitants. ECOkocka is supplied with an electrical controller with an alarm function for the pump and blower.
