Product description
Myosotis palustris, the water forget-me-not, is a perennial herb growing throughout almost all of Europe except for the southernmost and northernmost parts. It belongs to the family Boraginaceae - borage family.
The 'Alba' variety is a wetland plant with a creeping rhizome, reaching 20-40 cm in height. Its stem is upright to ascending. The green leaves are lanceolate; the lower ones are stalked, the upper ones sessile. It blooms repeatedly from May to September with white flowers in terminal cymes. The individual small flowers are 0.5 cm wide, regular, with five petals. The fruit is a black-brown nutlet.
The water forget-me-not prefers a sunny spot or partial shade with moist, muddy, and nutrient-rich soils. It is frost hardy down to -28°C.
Plant it along the edges of ponds and streams to a depth of up to 5 cm. It stands out when planted in groups together with primroses and irises.
