Mechanical pre-treatment in a septic tank

Wastewater flows into a three-chamber septic tank, where solid particles are separated from the liquid by gravity.

Water gradually passes through baffles into the next chambers, where remaining solid particles are further removed. With the ECOver version, this process operates purely by gravity without electricity (requires sloping terrain), while with the ECOkocka version, electrical energy is required for the blower. The septic tank needs to be cleaned once every 1 to 2 years, costing approximately €60 to €80. The pre-treated water then continues to the reed bed filter, where biological treatment takes place.
